Christia Lahar Releases Audio Cassette

The inter-denominational youth gospel music group, Christia Lahar (meaning Christian waves), released its first audio music cassette amidst a specially organized function on 24 February 2007 at Daakhbaari Church, Bhanimandal, Lalitpur. The cassette was released by Elder Solon Karthak of Gyaneshwor Church as the Chief Guest. Students of Living Stone Academy presented a group dance choreographed by Narbu Sherpa on a song sung by Esther Thatal. Anup Rai, Choir Director of Koinonia Patan Church gave a critique on the songs of the cassette. On a private conversation with this scribe, Elder Karthak said, the songs did not have “instrumental jungle” which made them very acceptable even to the elderly. The words of the songs are in devotional contemporary high Nepali. Lyrics of one each of the eight songs in the cassette were written by Jeewan Pradhan, another well known singer and composer and Ramesh Ghimire, both of Aashish Presbyterian Church. All the scores are composed by Narendra Kamar. The contributors to the production of the cassette were honoured with a khada, Tibetan scarf of honour. The function was managed and conducted by Elder Narbu Sherpa.
